Is this legal?
Yes. Snoooper only reads publicly visible storefront data - the same product and inventory information any shopper can see in their browser. We don't access private data, admin panels, or anything that requires a login. It's equivalent to manually checking a competitor's product page, just automated.
Do I need API access or a login to the competitor's store?
No. That's the whole point. Snoooper works entirely from public storefront data. You never need to contact the store owner, get approved, or set up any integrations on their end.
What Shopify stores does it work on?
Any public Shopify store where the storefront is accessible and inventory is being tracked. If you can browse their products as a normal shopper, we can track it. Stores with password protection (e.g. wholesale-only or development stores) cannot be tracked.
How often is inventory checked?
It depends on your plan. Free and Starter plans check daily. Pro, Agency and Enterprise plans check hourly.
How does Snoooper detect sales if it doesn't have admin access?
We read exact inventory levels directly from the storefront at each snapshot interval. If a variant drops from 47 to 31 units between snapshots, you see 16 units moved - not a figure derived from traffic data, but a real stock change. Because we're monitoring over time rather than inferring from a single snapshot, you won't see movement data on day one. After 24–48 hours you'll have a baseline; after a week, you'll have reliable movement patterns.
When will I start seeing data after adding a store?
On the free and Starter plans, Snoooper checks inventory every 24 hours. You'll start seeing movement data from day two - after the first and second snapshots can be compared. On Pro, Agency & Enterprise plans you'll have early signals within a few hours. This is the cost of accuracy: we give you the real number over time, not an instant guess. Other tools can show you a figure the moment you look up a store - because they're estimating from traffic data they already have. That figure can be wildly wrong. We'd rather give you the right answer a day later.
Can I track my own store too?
